Melbourne Over the Years – A Visual Journey Through Time - 2009
Watching a city change is mesmerising, and Melbourne’s always got something new going on. You see it in the fresh towers popping up, the tiny tweaks in hidden alleys, even along the river—every corner has a story.
‘Melbourne Over the Years’ isn’t just a bunch of photos. It’s like freezing moments in time, a collection that really grabs the city’s energy. Later on, people can look back and see just how much Melbourne has shifted and grown.
That night, I tried my first long exposure shots. Seeing the city lights shimmer, the river turn silky, and the whole scene wake up after dark just floored me.
The ongoing series will capture the ever-changing Melbourne skyline and its culture, street life, the people, architecture, and cityscape.

Where It All Began – 2009
We start from 2009, right in the heart of the city. I had a Sony A-100, barely any clue how to use it, and honestly, everything felt fresh and a little bit chaotic. I messed around with lighting, kept tweaking things, and somewhere along the way, I fell for Melbourne’s energy after the sun went down. That night, I tried my first long exposure shots. Seeing the city lights shimmer, the river turn silky, and the whole scene wake up after dark just floored me.
